Doctoral student Luke Everson is the recipient of the highly competitive NSF IGERT program starting in Spring 2016 for a complete year. The NSF Neuroengineering IGERT training that Luke will begin provides interdisciplinary training opportunities in systems neuroengineering with focus areas in neural decoding, neural interfacing, and neuromodulation. Students in this program will be trained by academic experts in neuroscience and engineering, and will have several opportunities to collaborate with clinicians and the medical device industry. The traineeship provides an annual stipend, tuition waiver, and travel funds to cover travel to national or international conferences related to their IGERT research. Luke is working under the guidance of Prof. Chris Kim.
