RETURN HOMEdq windings in ac machinesThis animation illustrates the representation of an ac machine by means of equivalent dq windings acting in a common reference frame. The starting step is the machine model in which the stator windings are located in the stationary stator frame and the rotor windings in the rotor frame rotating at ωm; the mutual magnetic coupling depends on the angle θ. The transformation into a common reference frame rotating at ωk creates equivalent dq windings whose magnetic couplings are now independent of Θ but where speed voltages are generated by fluxes acting orthogonally. Special cases of dq reference frames are : the stator frame (ωk = 0) and the rotor frame (ωk = ωm). © M. Riaz |
