Prof. Doug Ernie Honored with Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award

The University of Minnesota has honored Prof. Douglas Ernie with the Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award. Each year since 1965, the University of Minnesota has recognized a select group of teachers for their outstanding contributions to undergraduate education. As a recipient of the Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award, Prof. Ernie will become a member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers (ADT) and be conferred with the title of “Distinguished University Teaching Professor.”

“Douglas Ernie’s commitment to undergraduate education is evident in his teaching, advising, mentoring, curriculum enhancement, and involvement in his students’ learning experiences. A leader beyond the classroom, Ernie has redirected the college’s distance learning program to support all learners through educational technology. He is an advocate for equity and service-learning, having founded undergraduate research programs for diverse students and a learning abroad program in Kenya.”
